Introduction
Overthinking and anxiety are closely related psychological issues that can significantly impact a person's mental health and well-being. Overthinking involves excessive, repetitive thinking about past events OR future uncertainties, often leading to worry and stress. If overthinking is not healed, the feelings of anxiety, a condition characterized by excessive fear, worry, and apprehension about various aspects of life is amplified and then reflected in our daily life.
If not healed in its early phase, overthinking and anxiety can create a vicious cycle, leading to difficulties in decision-making, sleep disturbances, and a decreased quality of life. Addressing these issues often requires a combination of cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness meditation, and, in some cases, professional therapeutic interventions.
🪴I see that the base of your query is the issue of "overthinking". The issues of "negative & waste thoughts" and even "anxiety" & "depression" are 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 from a mind creating too many 𝚞𝚗𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑𝚝𝚜 instead of thinking 𝕔𝕝𝕖𝕒𝕣 and 𝕤𝕚𝕞𝕡𝕝𝕖. Not necessarily getting "bad thoughts" but just having too many 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐦/𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 thoughts at once, is a hindrance in experiencing ᑭEᗩᑕE of mind and ᑕᒪᗩᖇITY in thoughts.

1● 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 & 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Practice mindfulness to stay present in the moment. Meditation can help you observe your thoughts without getting caught up in them, and therefore achieve 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚋𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚢 and 𝚌𝚕𝚊𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚢 in thoughts. 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐣𝐘𝐨𝐠 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
2● 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀
Question the validity of negative thoughts. Ask yourself if there is evidence to support them and consider alternative, more 𝚋𝚊𝚕𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚍 perspectives. Always try to see the "bright side" in every situation. 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 the negative thoughs with "positive" ones at the same time they occur in your mind. This is a constant training of the mind.
3● 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
Shift your focus from dwelling on problems to actively seeking solutions. Identify actionable steps you can take to address the issue.
4● 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲
Regularly remind yourself of things you are grateful for. Shifting your focus to "positive" aspects of your life can naturally reduce overthinking.
5● 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝘆
Engage in activities that you love & that whichs capture your attention and keeps you occupied. A busy mind is less likely to oer-create thoughts.
6● 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
Avoid setting unrealistically high standards for yourself or external situations. 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩-𝐛𝐲-𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 instead of trying to reach the final aim directly. Accept that mistakes are part of the learning process.
7● 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆
Engage in regular exercise. Physical activity does make you 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 and contribute to a more 𝚋𝚊𝚕𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚍 mental state.
8● 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘀
Designate specific time every day for self-reflection, problem-solving or 𝚍𝚎𝚌𝚒𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗-𝚖𝚊𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚐. Once the time is up, consciously shift your focus to prevent excessive thoughts.
9● 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁
Practice being fully present in the NOW moment. Avoid thinking about the past, or getting lost in the future. 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫: The only real moment is the NOW moment. If you make the best of the NOW, it truly becomes a PRESENT and serves you in the future.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠?
Spiritual Answer: It could be a "𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚜𝚔𝚊𝚛" of a soul to create many thoughts at once, to worry or over think... If you take a pause, the very root of this is the feeling we call 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿. The feeling of "fear" causes us to have the most unwanted thoughts.
🍁As we explained on the point 2 of our practical tips, a good way is to 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 to annihilate (cancel) the negative thoughts and replace them with 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 one.
