★ Increasing (Growing) Acceptance for the Self, People & Situations ★
Acceptance of the self, other people in our life, or accepting life’s uncertainties—is a practise of releasing resistance and embracing reality as it unfolds.
1● Mindfulness practise
➤Mindfulness is the intentional act of paying attention to the present moment —without judgment, interpretation, or resistance. It’s about observing your thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and surroundings as they are, rather than how you think they should be. Mindfulness helps you stop battling reality. It develops the ability to "coexist with discomfort" (difficult people or situations) without letting it define you. This non-judgmental awareness fosters self-compassion and empathy for others, while also providing the clarity needed to approach life's challenges with a calm, centered perspective.
2● Practice self-compassion
➤By speaking to yourself as you would a 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝, acknowledging imperfection as part of being human. Reframe resistance by asking, "𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴?" instead of "𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦?" Create and feel "gratitude" for what is rather than fixating on what’s missing.
➤Finally, surrender the illusion of control—𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞. Acceptance grows when we stop fighting reality and "trust" in our capacity to adapt and grow through life’s ups and downs.
